NewsFlash! Senate Deal May End Government Shutdown – Updated

Speaker Boehner has agreed to not block the House from voting on the Senate bill. The Senate is expected to vote to approve the bill some time tonight, while the House has not yet indicated precisely when it will take up the measure.

NewsFlash! Senate Deal May End Government Shutdown

The U.S. Senate announced today that a bipartisan agreement had been reached that would temporarily reopen the government and raise the debt limit. However, the U.S. House of Representatives will have to approve of the compromised plan in order for the deal to then be sent to President Obama for his signature. As of yet, it remains unclear whether House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will allow the Senate deal to come up for a vote.
