13 Apr 2022The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the May 2022 Visa Bulletin. All cutoff dates listed refer to the dates in the final action chart (i.e., Chart A), unless otherwise specified.
Visa Bulletin Summary
Employment-Based, First Preference (EB1) Category
The EB1 category remains current for all countries of chargeability.
Employment-Based, Second Preference (EB2) Category
The cutoff date for EB2 India advances to September 1, 2013. EB2 China’s cutoff date remains unchanged at March 1, 2019. EB2 is current for all other countries of chargeability.
Employment-Based, Third Preference (EB3) Category
Once again, there is no movement in the EB3 category. The cutoff date for EB3 India remains unchanged at January 15, 2012, while EB3 China still has a March 22, 2018 cutoff date. The EB3 category remains current for all other countries of chargeability.
EB3 Other Workers
With the exception of China, the cutoff dates for EB3 other workers are the same for each country as its respective EB3 cutoff dates. For China, the cutoff date for EB3 other workers remains stuck at June 1, 2012.
Employment-Based, Fourth Preference (EB4) Category
There is no movement in the EB4 category, with the cutoff date for El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras remaining at May 1, 2017. For EB4 Mexico, the cutoff date is still set at April 1, 2020. This category is current for all other countries of chargeability.
Employment-Based, Fifth Preference (EB5) Category
The EB5 category is current for all countries of chargeability, with the exception of China. The cutoff date for EB5 China is November 22, 2015.
In related news, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) announced yesterday that U.S. consulates have resumed processing immigrant visas associated with approved I-526 petitions filed based on regional center investments.
