The Murthy Law Firm is honored that many of our attorneys are involved in any number of local, national, and international organizations to improve the conditions of those in need. Despite our various commitments, we believe that there are causes that run across state or national borders. Helping to uplift others provides greater meaning to our own lives and provides us with the opportunity to make a difference. In recognition of the work that we do, our attorneys are acknowledged with various leadership positions and awards. The attorneys at the Murthy Law Firm are encouraged to participate on boards of directors and in various other capacities to offer their talents and knowledge to both the local and global communities for a better world.

On May 5, 2006, Attorney Sheela Murthy was recognized as one of ten special leaders at the Third Annual Leader Lunch, organized by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of Greater Baltimore. The awards are given to women in the greater Baltimore area who are leaders in their fields and in their local communities, regardless of their personal beliefs or faiths. Attorney Murthy was selected for her leadership role as a lawyer and for her tireless work in helping others, not only in the local and national communities, but also in the global community.

We encourage MurthyDotCom and MurthyBulletin readers to get involved in their communities, giving to others to whatever extent possible, however limited their time or resources. It is in helping others that we realize our own talents and recognize our own good fortune. Margaret Meade once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
