Improper Rejection of I-485 Applications by the Texas Service Center
Prior to May 1998

The following is a September 24, 1997 update from the Texas Service Center regarding EB2 Petitions filed by nationals of India whose I-485s have been improperly rejected.

Since the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin for the month of October 1997 was released around Sept. 11, 1997, the Texas Service Center incorrectly rejected I-485 Petitions by nationals of India. Some Indian EB2 I-485s received by TSC in late August were incorrectly rejected in September. Texas Service Center believes that only approximately perhaps 50 applications have been adversely affected. The Director of the Texas Service Center has suggested sending the I 485 applications back and double enveloping it marking both envelopes "Personal & Confidential for the Director" and express mail them back to the TSC.
