Texas Service Center Realizes I-485 Backlogs
Prior to May 1998

The Texas Service Center (TSC) has recently realized a misfiling of approximately 5,000 I-485 cases by its mailroom of cases which are nine months or older.

TSC suggest that AILA attorney follow certain strict procedures to assist in addressing this problem. TSC does not want to receive any telephone calls to discuss this issue since they want to concentrate on clearing the backlog. Clients of the Law Office of Sheela Murthy can send us an e-mail to address any delays by the TSC. We have already contacted the TSC with most of our clients cases on a regular basis. Of course, this does not include those cases where the priority dates are not current and therefore cannot be approved under existing law because of the non-availability of the visa numbers.

TSC has promised to respond to AILA attorneys within 30 days of the submission of the written request in the format required by the TSC.
