Change in Hours of Operation at INS Fingerprinting Locations
Posted Jan 31, 1999

On December 14, 1998, INS announced a change in the operating hours at all 126 fingerprinting locations, known as Application Support Center (ASCs). Beginning December 18, 1998, the hours at all ASCs are Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Previously, ASCs were open later in the evening, but INS observed that applicants tended to prefer the early morning hours or Saturdays. INS has therefore discontinued the evening hours, and added two more hours on Saturdays. The agency says the changes will enable them to process a larger number of cases, while reducing costs.

The above hours are for separate facilities. Those fingerprinting sites that are located within INS offices will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
