U.S. - Canada Border Pass Pilot Program

The governments of Canada and the U.S. are working together to implement a border pass program that will enable pre-approved applicants to travel easily between the two countries, without delays at the border. Under the program, known as NEXUS, participants will be issued cards that are valid for entry to both countries. Applicants will be screened to make sure that they meet the admissibility requirements for both countries, have no criminal record and so forth. The cards will incorporate technology to prevent fraud or misuse ensuring that the Border card is usable only by the particular individual.

Holders of the new passes will have special traffic lanes at the border that will eliminate waiting time and reduce traffic congestion. Complete information on the NEXUS program is available at:
