2003 CGFNS Exam Registration Deadlines

This update on the CGFNS Examination furthers the attention MurthyDotCom and the MurthyBulletin are focusing on immigration for Nurses in our efforts to help address the acute healthcare crisis in the United States. As explained in earlier articles [See our nursing section on MurthyDotCom.], the CGFNS Examination is an element of the CGFNS Certificate. This CGFNS Certificate or state licensure is one of the requirements to obtain a VisaScreen Certificate, needed for the I-485 or adjustment of status approval towards gaining permanent resident status in the U.S.

The application deadline for the July 9, 2003 CGFNS Qualifying Exam (Exam) was April 9, 2003. All application materials, education and licensure documentation, and payment should have been received by CGFNS no later than April 9th. The deadline to request a change in the Exam site or date is April 30, 2003.

For those candidates who missed the April 9, 2003 registration deadline the wait is not as bad as may have been expected. CGFNS will provide a Special Administration of the Exam at select locations worldwide on September 10, 2003. The Exam will be held September 10, 2003, at the following exam centers: Chicago, Illinois (Center No. 501); Houston, Texas (Center No. 510); New York City, New York (Center No. 540); Manila, Philippines (Center No. 823); Cebu City, Philippines (Center No. 907); Bangalore, India (Center No. 850); and Cochin, India (Center No. 851).

The application deadline for the September 10, 2003 Special Administration of the Exam is June 11, 2003. Anyone who expects to take the September 10, 2003 Exam at one of the locations listed above must have all of his/her documentation to CGFNS by the application deadline.
The final opportunity to take the Exam in 2003 will be offered on November 12, 2003. The application deadline for the November 12, 2003 Exam is August 13, 2003. Anyone wishing to take the November 12, 2003 Exam must have all of his/her documentation to CGFNS by the application deadline. The November 12, 2003 Exam will be administered at all of the CGFNS Exam Centers. A complete listing of all CGFNS Exam Centers is located on the CGFNS WebSite.
