Change in Visa Fees for all Consular Posts in India
Posted
Aug 03, 2001
From time to time in the MurthyBulletin, we provide updates on
procedures at consulates. For example, in last week's MurthyBulletin we
included an article on changes at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France.
In this article, we provide an update on visa fees in India. Though the visa
fees in U.S. dollars remain unchanged at this time, the U.S. Embassy at New
Delhi, and the Consulates at Chennai, Mumbai, and Calcutta are adjusting the
required amounts in Indian currency (rupees), effective August 1, 2001.
Please note that Calcutta does not process immigrant visa applications. Such
changes take place regularly, to reflect current exchange rates.
The new fee schedule for rupee payments is provided below :
| Nonimmigrant Visa
Application Fee |
US
$45; Rs. 2160 |
| Nonimmigrant
Visa Issuance Fee |
US
$75; Rs. 3600 |
| Immigrant
Visa Application Fee |
US
$260; Rs. 12,480 |
| Immigrant
Visa Issuance Fee |
US
$65; Rs. 3120 |
| Returning
U.S. Resident Visa Fee |
US
$50; Rs. 2400 |
We hope this updated
information helps the many subscribers of the MurthyBulletin, who apply at the various
consulates around the world, particularly at the consulates in India, for
nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.
