New CGFNS Case Automated Status System

As regular MurthyBulletin and MurthyDotCom readers may recall from our previous articles on nursing, the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) plays a vital role in the eligibility of foreign nurses to work in the U.S. In order to ensure that nurses using CGFNS services have instant information access regarding their CGFNS file status, CGFNS implemented an automated telephone status check service system. Most of these nurses have invested substantial time, energy, and resources towards becoming nurses and so this new feature is a welcomed addition.

Results from the CGFNS exams will not be available on the telephone system. The system, however, does enable applicants to closely monitor the progress of the applications, so that they may notify CGFNS if something seems amiss. To use this new feature from CGFNS, international callers should dial <001+ 215.599.6200>, while U.S. callers should call <1.215.599.6200>. Each caller must enter his/her CGFNS ID number and birth date to access the system.
