I am writing to you today from ImmigrantsList.com, the pro-immigration reform political action committee (PAC) that I helped to found last year with many other leading pro-immigration supporters from all across the United States. Immigrants’ List supports members of Congress who are pro-immigration and works to elect new pro-immigration reform members to Congress. It now seems as though only through elections will we build the pro-immigration reform majority we need. Immigrants’ List is a non-partisan PAC, because both Democrats & Republicans should be able to embrace immigration reform. This is a cause that is so vital to all of us. After all, America is a nation of immigrants!

As you may already know, earlier this week Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, Chair of the Immigration Subcommittee, sent a strong letter to DHS Secretary Chertoff regarding the suspension of I-485 adjustment of status applications for employment-based immigrants. In my recent letter to Secretary Chertoff, I voiced my concerns that the USCIS decision has a significant impact upon the reliability and integrity of the legal immigration system in this country. We believe that the USCIS decision will negatively impact thousands of highly-educated and highly-skilled individuals and their families, as well as the many U.S. businesses that rely upon the critical work they perform.

We need to have 5,000 signatures on this petition as quickly as possible so we can deliver it to Secretary Chertoff next week. Please sign it yourself and then ask your family, friends, and colleagues to do the same. Action on this matter cannot wait.

We at Immigrants’ List have been supporting Zoe Lofgren since the beginning of this year, and many of our members took part in a fundraising reception honoring her in March. We all should be applauding her actions. We need more members of Congress like Representative Zoe Logfren, who will fight for our cause. Often, immigrants are targeted or ignored because we are viewed as having no political clout, power, or strength. We can dispel that myth today with your help! Please contribute to Immigrants’ List so we can continue to support members of Congress who fight for a better pro-immigration system that recognizes the strengths and talents immigrants like you bring to America!
