We at the Murthy Law Firm have received a number of questions as to how the
July 2, 2007 revision of the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin will
impact scheduled, employment-based immigrant visa interviews abroad at the
U.S. consulates. Those who have immigrant visa interviews in July 2007,
based on an employment-based category, should plan to attend the immigrant
visa interview with family members who are eligible to immigrate with the
principal applicant.

In order to issue an immigrant visa, there must be an immigrant visa number
available. With the depletion of those numbers by the USCIS, no more numbers
are available. However, the U.S. Embassy, Consular Section, in New Delhi,
India, has just confirmed to the Murthy Law Firm that they will continue to
process the scheduled, employment-based immigrant visa cases set for July
2007. This may be because the consulates request their visa numbers in
advance each month, based on scheduled interviews, so they may have the visa
numbers available for all those who have immigrant visa interviews abroad,
even though there are no more that can be issued after July 2007. They also
stated to the Murthy Law Firm that after July they will not be processing
the employment-based immigrant visas until further notice.
