I-140 Premium Processing : First Case Approved in One Day!

As regular readers of MurthyDotCom and the MurthyBulletin know, the USCIS recently instituted premium processing for EB3 I-140 petitions. The program became effective August 28, 2006. We are pleased to report that the Murthy Law Firm received its first I-140 petition approval from the USCIS almost immediately after the program began. Our first I-140 premium processing case was received by the USCIS on August 30, 2006. It was approved only one day later; on August 31, 2006!

It is doubtful that one-day-turn-around time will be the norm, as I-140 premium processing becomes more widespread and is used by greater numbers of employers and employees. One should not assume that his or her case will receive an approval within such a short timeframe. It is encouraging, however, that the system is operational and has begun so efficiently.
