Value of H1B Visa Holders and Immigration Attorneys
Posted
May 04, 2001
Among the various interviews conducted of attorneys at The Law Office of
Sheela Murthy, we are pleased to announce that the New York Times of Sunday,
April 29, 2001, quoted Attorney Murthy. The article was entitled:
"Workers, and Bosses, in a Visa Maze." We share an excerpt from
the article quoting Attorney Murthy, which embodies the H1B program, the
contributions of H1B visa holders to the U.S., and the American dream of
which most immigrants wish to partake:
"The H1B program takes the crème de la crème… Many of them
have master's degrees and attended top-notch universities. They are coming
with a dream and a desire to do something with their lives."
We also take this opportunity to share another interesting observation from
the INS with our readers of the MurthyBulletin. The Washington Post,
in an article on April 24, 2001, featured a quote from INS spokesperson
Karen Kraushaar that lawyers who can figure out the complex immigration
system are "worth their weight in gold."
It is gratifying that the INS, which could just as well take the opposite
view, appreciates the importance of the role immigration attorneys play in
decoding the mysteries of complex immigration laws.
