Innovative
Rehabilitation Engineer Approved for NIW
Posted
Apr 28, 2000
On
March 27, 2000, The Law Office of Sheela Murthy, P.C. obtained another
approval from the INS on a National Interest Waiver (NIW) case for an
engineer whose work is in the field of Rehabilitation Engineering.
This engineer had obtained advanced engineering degrees from renowned
universities. His significant work offers solutions to challenging problems
in the finite element modeling of residual limbs and prosthetic sockets of
persons with amputations below the knee. He developed an automatic mesh
generation technique to solve the challenge of developing a finite element
mesh for the model.
This engineer/researcher is one of a small group of experts in the United
States developing computer-aided designs and applying them to the analysis
of soft tissue weight-bearing surfaces. His analytical models predict the
stress distribution on the residual limb during walking and other
activities. Computer models will enable vast design improvements in
prosthetic sockets, instead of the traditional trial-and-error methods. An
added advantage of computer-based models is that they can evaluate materials
and components that have not yet been developed.
The Law Office of Sheela Murthy, P.C. is proud to share with you a synopsis
of the work and contributions of another talented client of our firm, whose
work is in the national interest of the U.S. Like many of our dynamic and
highly talented engineers, researchers and scholars, all of our recent NIW
cases continue to provide us the challenge to present their cases and their
unique contributions in the best light to the INS in order to obtain
approvals. We congratulate the dedication and work of our clients who help
to improve the quality of life for so many in the U.S.
