Update from the NSC - January 1999

The Law Office of Sheela Murthy is pleased to share some good news regarding INS processing: The Nebraska Service Center of the INS has finally ended the hold on processing I-485s filed after April 1, 1998.

Also, many of the subscribers of the Immigration Law Bulletin of The Law Office of Sheela Murthy (and most of our staff) have been frustrated by the telephone problem at NSC, which results in being cut off after having waited 20 minutes or more on hold. We are told by the AILA attorney liaison that the Center has been working on fixing this problem. It is high time, too! We applaud the fact that they are recognizing and addressing the problem.
