More National Interest Waiver Approvals

We are again providing additional summaries of national interest waiver (NIW) cases approved for applications submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of its clients. Although the INS is reviewing NIW cases more stringently, if the case has merits, is well presented with a clear and precise articulation of the benefits, etc. approvals can be obtained. Preparation and submission of NIW cases are time intensive and strategies have to be utilized in addressing such cases.

As a service to our prospective clients and to demonstrate the documentary requirements, the Law Office of Sheela Murthy is providing the following summaries:


*Research Scientist*


The INS approved a national interest petition for a Research Scientist working in the area of Immunology. The beneficiary's research focuses on the most prevalent arthritic and musculoskeletal disorders present in the U.S. population. The beneficiary has made significant contributions to the field of immunology and the understanding of the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Knowledge that can lead to the control/prevention of autoimmune diseases will have a major impact on improving the nations health care and well being, as well as eliminating millions of dollars of medical expenditures. The beneficiary's work has been cited, nationally as well as internationally, by over 45 research groups.


*Material Science Engineer*


The Service Center recently approved a national interest waiver for a Material Science Engineer and Researcher in Washington State argued and submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of the beneficiary. The beneficiary, who specializes in conductive composites, has a Ph.D., an M.S., and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. It was argued that the beneficiary's advancements in the field of conductive composites would be invaluable to the replacement of traditional conductive materials, namely metals, which may in the future become a limited natural resource. It was argued that the petition was in the national interest based on the obvious benefits of his research work to the environment and economy of the United States.


*Biochemical Environmental Engineer*


The Service Center recently approved a national interest waiver for an Environmental Engineer in Pennsylvania, argued and submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of the beneficiary. The beneficiary, who specializes in the decontamination of hazardous biochemical materials, has a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. It was argued that the beneficiary's contributions to the understanding of the effects of various biohazards on the human population and the environment, would be invaluable to the modification of pollution standards in the United States as well as to the development of better apparatus to ensure efficient decontamination at hazardous sites across the U.S.


*Endocrinologist*


The Service Center recently approved a national interest waiver for an Endocrinologist in Washington, argued and submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of the beneficiary. The beneficiary, who specializes in diabetes and thrombosis diagnosis and treatment, has a degree in Medicine and Surgery and has completed her residency in Internal Medicine. It was argued that the beneficiary's contributions to the development and dissemination of cutting edge research would be invaluable to people around the world suffering from diabetes, cancer, and thrombosis.


*Multimedia Information Systems Professor*


The Service Center recently approved a national interest waiver for a Computer Science Professor in Florida, argued and submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of the beneficiary. The beneficiary, who specializes in multimedia information systems, has a Ph.D., M.S., and a B.S. in Computer Science. It was argued that the beneficiary's contributions to the development and dissemination of cutting edge research in the field of information systems is valuable to the development of new information technologies in U.S. business and industry.


*Medical Researcher*


The Service Center recently approved a national interest waiver for a medical researcher in Baltimore, argued and submitted by the Law Office of Sheela Murthy on behalf of the beneficiary. The beneficiary, who specializes in oncology and human genetics, has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, a B.S. in Genetics, postdoctoral training in oncology and is currently completing a Ph.D. fellowship in Urology and Oncology. It was argued that the beneficiary's contributions in identifying and cloning the first hereditary prostate cancer gene would be invaluable to the future of cancer research in the U.S. and the world.
