Sanctions for Employment-Based Applicants from Iran

INS has indicated that it must revoke any previously approved employment based immigrant or nonimmigrant visa petitions that would be contrary to the Executive Order which sets forth sanctions in place against Iran.

Nonimmigrant extension applications for Iranians must be denied for those categories which require maintenance of a foreign residence. This would include most nonimmigrant categories, the notable exceptions being H1B and L-1.
